ANN ARBOR, Mich., September 17, 2015 – Hygieia, a digital insulin enhancement company dedicated to making insulin therapy easier for everyone involved, announced the appointment of David Conn as president, head of the company’s U.S. business, effective immediately. In this role, Conn will drive the introduction of Hygieia’s d-Nav® diabetes connected-health service in the United States, reporting to Hygieia CEO and Co-Founder Eran Bashan.
“Dave is the proven leader we need to help us introduce d-Nav to the U.S. market,” said Bashan. “Not only is he an experienced C-level executive, but he’s had significant success spearheading go-to-market strategy and execution for numerous diabetes and connected-health products.”
Conn brings commercial, business development, marketing, sales and general management experience in multiple markets relevant to Hygieia, including diabetes management, mobile health and OTC healthcare. Most recently, he served as president of Facet Technologies, a global OEM manufacturer of blood sampling devices for the leading diabetes supply companies. Previously, Conn served as chief commercial officer for AgaMatrix, a pioneer in mobile-health hardware and software designed to enhance connectivity between patients and healthcare providers, and as president and CEO of HypoGuard, one of the first companies to develop blood-glucose testing for home use.
Before joining HypoGuard, Conn logged nearly 20 years in consumer healthcare sales, including four years in Johnson & Johnson’s LifeScan division, where he served as vice president, Consumer Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.
“Hygieia has created a comprehensive solution that will enable people with diabetes, primary care physicians and managed care organizations to realize the full benefits of insulin therapy,” said Conn. “I am thrilled to bring my experience to bear to help launch this service – which has already proven that it improves the health of insulin users in Europe – into the United States.”
The Hygieia d-Nav service is an efficient, effective combination of smart cloud-based technology and a small team of healthcare professionals that provides valuable support to primary care physicians and helps people with diabetes achieve improved health. d-Nav brings insulin therapy into the digital age by providing personalized adjustments to enhance and simplify dosing, maximizing insulin effectiveness for patients and the physicians who prescribe it, so that diabetes becomes a smaller part of their lives.
